Look at me!
We Will Meet in the Tundra (The Book) will be out this week
So, dear followers. The small book I have been working on for the past 4 months, will be out of a printing house during this week, or if everything does not run smoothly, next week.
We Will Meet in the Tundra is a collection of drawings I’ve made during this and last year. The drawings are accompanied with Julie Huberman’s curious writings. It’s hard to define what kind of associations our works will create together.
Unexpected rendez-vous in the middle of a plateau. Memories of expectations and sad characters staring into the abyss. Two-headed cow-dog pulling its tail. Pairs, couples, families, triples and loners wondering how they ended up where they did. Men bigger than trains, even if the dimensional effect is taken into consideration. Houses, big houses in distance.
I did not create this book in order to supply the reader with some specific idea of an era or ideology or wisdom or message. It is not an answer to anything. In many pages there is more empty space than ink used. (My friend asked if they could use it as notebook - that’s allright.) I like empty space. That’s a good starting point for big things, or nothing.
Anyway. I’ve also made some merchandise for big fans of Piispa & Huberman. There are unique hand-drawn wooden badges, which I’ll be selling at Christmas markets here in Tampere with the book. Both the book and badges - possibly also t-shirts, postcards and whatnot I’ll be able to create - can also be ordered by mail. I’ll post further instructions here soon. I’ll also post pictures soon. I’ll post something soon anyway. This was just a reminder that something is going on.
